PADI Divemaster Course

Taking your Divemaster course in Roatan is a great choice for starting a career in scuba diving!

Why Roatan? Roatan is a Caribbean paradise located 40 miles off the North Coast of Honduras. Our passionate dive community is immersed in a tiny town that has all the amenities of a big city - with pristine, white sandy beaches and lush jungle hills a stone's throw away.

Designated as a Marine Protected Area, our backyard is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world! The diverse marine ecosystem includes both hard and soft corals, endangered sea turtles, eagle rays, sea slugs, sharks, dolphins, and so much more. Dive sites are easily accessible by boat, with a majority of sites located 5 to 10 minutes away from our Shop on the North West side of the Island.

6-8 WEEKS

The Divemaster Course in Roatan takes 6 to 8 weeks. You can expect to be at the Shop 6 days per week from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, but you also have the option to split this in a couple of trips to Roatan.

Our Divemaster Training includes:

• one-on-one guidance

• weekly meetings with your mentor

• extra lessons to ensure knowledge proficiency

• bonus workshops to improve your underwater awareness and polish your skills

• as well as conservation opportunities

We accept Divemaster Candidates year-round, with the exception of December. However, we maintain small groups to ensure personal attention for every Candidate.

What will I learn?

The PADI Divemaster Course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities and you will learn:

• The role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster

• Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers

• Diver safety and risk management

• Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills

• Business of diving and your career

• Awareness of the dive environment

• Dive setup and management a dive operation

• Mapping an dive site

• Conducting dive briefings

• Organizing a search and recovery scenario and a deep dive

• Conducting a ReActivate and Advanced Snorkeler Course

• Assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs

Who can do the Divemaster Course?

To start you Divemaster Course you must be:

• 18 Years or Older (15 Years for Junior Divemaster)

• Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification within 24 Months

• Rescue Diver Certified

• Minimum of 40 Logged Dives

Job Opportunity!

After you complete your training and receive your Divemaster Certification, you’ll put everything in practice during your Divemaster Internship. We differ from other dive shops that put their interns in a “slave labour” type situation.

Here at Roatan Divers, you will be paid every time that that you guide fun divers for us. Of course, we will be always with you to give you all the support you need, but once we see that you are ready, you will become part of our staff and have the opportunity to learn with #1 Rated Dive Center on Roatan.
