The Open Water certification is the first autonomous scuba certification level, which means that you don’t need the supervision of a dive professional. You will also be able to dive to a max. depth of 18 meters / 60 feet.

How long does it take?

3 DAYS

This is a 3-day course that is divided into 3 parts:

  • Knowledge Development: you will begin by completing the PADI eLearning from the comfort of your home without wasting time with classroom presentations during your vacation. We will send you your PADI E-Learning Material ahead of time.

  • Confined Water: in your first day you will complete 5 confined water dives with your instructor.

  • Open Water: afterwards, you will get on board one of our boats to do 4 open water dives with your instructor.

This course will allow you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters / 60 feet.

Frequently Asked Questions
about the PADI Open Water Diver

  • YES! We will dedicate one instructor exclusive to your course and the maximum size of the group is 6 people.

  • YES! You will use the BCD to help you float at the surface, but it is very important that you feel comfortable in the water. Also, in order to get your certification you will need to complete a 200 meters swim test.

  • The Scuba Diver certification is the first scuba certification level, allowing you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet under the supervision of a dive professional.

    The Open Water certification is the first autonomous scuba certification level, which means that you don’t need the supervision of a dive professional. You will also be able to dive to a max. depth of 18 meters / 60 feet.

    • Minimum 10 years old

    • Medical Form: You need to fill out a medical questionnaire. With any “Yes” response you will need a medical clearance to diving. You can acquire this at home or here on the Island at least one day prior to your dive. Ask us for the form!
