The Mesoamerican Reef is the second largest barrier reef in the world and lies within the Caribbean Sea and touches the coasts of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras.

With the Deep Specialty you will have the opportunity to explore all the beautiful walls that we have here in Roatan.

The PADI Deep Diver is a specialty course ideal for those looking to venture into the depths beyond the 30 meters / 100 feet.

The PADI Deep Specialty will also count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

How long does it take?

2 DAYS

This is a 2-day course that is divided into 2 parts:

  • Knowledge Development: you will begin by completing the PADI eLearning from the comfort of your home without wasting time with classroom presentations during your vacation.

  • Open Water Dives: after you will get on board one of our boats to do 4 open water dives with your instructor.

Link the Nitrox or Wreck Specialty with your Deep Specialty and receive a special discount!


Who can do it?

Available for ages 15 and up, it's the perfect option for advanced divers.

Become an Elite Diver! With this course you will be one step closer to the Master Scuba Diver, the highest recreational diving level.

PADI eLearning with Roatan Divers

What will I learn?

During your PADI Deep Specialty you will learn how to:

  • Manage your gas supply

  • Identify and deal with narcosis

  • Recognize your personal limits

Water Dives

Here's what you can expect from your PADI Deep Specialty

Frequently Asked Questions about the PADI Deep Specialty

  • YES! We will dedicate one instructor exclusive to your course and the maximum size of the group is 6 people.

  • With the Wreck Specialty you will:

    • Complete deep dives with an instructor

    • See more of the underwater world

    • Dive to a maximum depth of 40 meters / 130 feet

  • To complete your Deep Specialty you need to do 4 open water dives, but because you did one Deep Adventure during your Advance Open Water Course you can receive the credit of one dive and you will only need to complete 3 more.

    • Minimum 15 years old

    • Be an AdvancedOpen Water Diver from any dive organization

    • Medical Form: You need to fill out a medical questionnaire. With any “Yes” response you will need a medical clearance to diving. You can acquire this at home or here on the Island at least one day prior to your dive. Ask us for the form!
