The focus of the Self Reliant Specialty is not the solo dive!
This Self Reliant Specialty will give you the ability and knowledge to plan for and respond to emergencies independently, without assistance, whether diving alone or with a buddy
The PADI Self Reliant Specialty will also count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
How long does it take?
2 DAYS
This is a 2-day course that is divided into 2 parts:
Knowledge Development: you will begin by completing the PADI eLearning from the comfort of your home without wasting time with classroom presentations during your vacation.
Open Water Dives: after you will get on board one of our boats to do 3 open water dives with your instructor.

Respond to emergency situations regardless of whether you have partner assistance or not
The importance and need for redundant equipment
Plan dives and gas management techniques

Is also ideal for photographers and videographers, who often pay attention to the environment, but not to their dive buddy, or traveling divers that doesn’t have a buddy and may end up with a dive buddy they have not met.

Minimum 15 years old
Be an Advanced Open Water Diver from any dive organization
Minimum 100 logged dives
Medical Form: You need to fill out a medical questionnaire. With any “Yes” response you will need a medical clearance for diving. You can acquire this at home or here on the Island at least one day prior to your dive. Ask us for the form!
