Roatan Divers: History and a New Logo
Roatan Divers is a multi-award-winning PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center (IDC) located in the heart of West End, Roatan, Honduras.
Established in 2013 as a modest dive shop on a simple pier, it has since evolved into one of the island’s most respected dive operators, known for its professionalism, safety, and highly personalized service.
From the beginning, Roatan Divers has been committed to excellence, offering a wide range of PADI-certified courses and guided dive experiences.
Humble Beginnings
In its early days, the dive center operated with basic equipment, aging boats, and only a handful of divers. The transformation truly began when Saaya and Karl took over ownership. With passion and a clear vision, they revamped the shop, upgraded its gear and boats, and raised the standard of service across the board.
New Start
In July 2019, Saaya and Karl passed the torch as they returned to Europe and the dive center started a new chapter under the leadership of Sarah, Ray, and Juliet. Staying true to the shop’s core values, the new owners continued to elevate the experience without losing the soul that made Roatan Divers special.
During this period, General Manager Martijn Mulder played a key role in the company’s growth and professional development. He developed a custom dive management system that streamlined operations, enhanced organization, and added lasting value to the business.
Since 2022, under the leadership of Fernanda Paiva, our General Manager and PADI Course Director, Roatan Divers has continued to grow. She has expanded our professional-level, specialty, and technical diving programs, while also enhancing our ability to deliver courses in multiple languages.
Our vision goes beyond simply being a place where people come to dive and have fun. We strive to be a premier training center where divers can deepen their knowledge, refine their skills, and grow into confident, capable underwater explorers.
Our ultimate goal: to become the number one diver training center in the Caribbean!

As a boutique operation, Roatan Divers excels in creating personalized dive adventures. We cater to small groups, providing unmatched attention to detail, comfort, and environmental responsibility. With four custom-designed dive boats and private docks, our facilities ensure a seamless and premium dive experience.
In 2024, after 11 years of operation, we decided it was time to refresh our image. After six months of hard work, dedication, and deep passion for our history, we’re proud and excited to announce our new logo.

Our new logo, a turtle, is a true symbol of the vibrant marine life you’ll encounter here in Roatan.
Our new color palette represents the colors present in the ocean surrounding our beautiful island.
