Lionfish pose a significant threat to local marine ecosystems due to widespread predation of native species, prolific reproduction, and lack of controlling predators.

However, here in the Bay Islands, the Roatan Marine Park have taken a proactive stance in removing this harmful species, and you can get licensed as a snorkeler or diver to join in the hunt.

HALBER TAG

This is a Half-day course that is divided into 2 parts:

  • Knowledge Development: you will begin with an afternoon classroom session focused on procedures to hunt lionfish here in Roatan

  • Confined Dives: after you will do 1 confined dive to learn how to use the spears.

A good buoyancy is essential for hunting without damaging the coral reef. So, link the PPB Specialty with your Lionfish Hunter License and receive a special discount!

This course is offered exclusively in the afternoons.

    Here in Roatan you only can hunt if you have the RMP Lionfish License and you need to use your spear with your unique ID number, that is associated with your certification.

    • Mindestalter: 12 Jahre

    • Seien Sie Open-Water-Taucher bei einer beliebigen Tauchorganisation

    • Medizinisches Formular: Sie müssen einen medizinischen Fragebogen ausfüllen. Bei jeder Antwort mit „Ja“ benötigen Sie eine ärztliche Tauchtauglichkeitsbescheinigung.
