Dean and his family were on Roatan after spending time doing volunteer medical work on the mainland of Honduras. The island was the perfect way to end their time here in Central America. While most of the family are certified divers, Dean had never tried it before and figured this was a perfect chance to go. He first started by receiving an informational briefing and introduction to the equipment we use when scuba diving. From there we moved to shallow waters where he could take his first breaths underwater and demonstrate his ability for some key underwater skills. Dean was comfortable from the start and before you know it, he was ready to go diving!
On their dive they saw so much activity on the reef and had such a great time they decided they wanted to do even more! Since Dean was so great and a natural on his first dive, he was able to do additional Discover Scuba Dives where he stayed under the supervision of one of our instructors, but was still able to be at the same dive sites as the rest of his family. It was such a pleasure having Dean and the whole family here so we could introduce them to the wonderful underwater world Roatan has to offer. Dean enjoyed himself so much, he hopes to complete his full Open Water certification soon.
